About the Sessions
On Oct 6 & 7, Meow Wolf came to Colorado to host 3 free informational sessions for Colorado artists offering insights into our Open Call for the Meow Wolf Denver exhibition. Our goal was simple: demystify the submission process by providing a transparent overview of what we feel makes a great proposal for a Meow Wolf project.
Our workshops, attend by over 600 people altogether, were filled with curious artists, makers, and future collaborators. Some of our co-founders and a group of Creative Directors from across our company spoke about what they have learned over many decades of creating collaborative immersive experiences.
An Artist’s Guide to the Multiverse
The bulk of these sessions focused on a document generated by our Creative Direction team that we’ve titled an “Artist’s Guide to the Multiverse.” Categories in this informal guide range from “Meaningful Immersive Experiences” to “A Secret Ingredient: Making the Unknown Accessible.” The guide additionally offers insights into commonly asked questions, and provides considerations for artists to ask themselves before pitching a project. The energy we felt from Colorado artists during these sessions was incredible. If you’re a Colorado artist considering submitting your idea for Meow Wolf Denver, we’d love for you to download this packet and review the information we’ve compiled. We expect to expand this document as we gain insight from building larger, more ambitious projects and get the opportunity to collaborate with new artists—like you!
