The Moon is to Live On

Robert Davis is 30 years old. He hates his job with Old Spice. He is not happy with his marriage. And he is not ready to have a kid. Sea Serpents swim in swelling waves. Horseboy chooses a colored leaf. Druids roam jagged forests. And a woman trades her nose for an ear. Something’s gotta give…

2 years into its infancy, Meow Wolf ventured into the realm of live theater with “The Moon is to Live On”, a 3-hour extravaganza featuring live music, dance, time-based art installation, prominent video elements set on the fourth wall, live video, rotating sets, and experimental storytelling. Written by Vince Kadlubek and Directed by Megan Burns, the story followed the mid-life crisis of Robert Davis and explored the chaos of his sub-conscious through dreams and internal ramblings as the life he built for himself started to crumble around him. “The Moon…” performed to 6 sold-out crowds at Warehouse 21, and received rave reviews in THE Magazine and The Pasatiempo.
