We believe in artistic freedom, inclusive creative economies and the capacity of art to transform lives and communities.

The Meow Wolf Foundation strives to support and honor artists, cultural-bearers, and the uniqueness of place, exploring the ways that art and creativity help our communities thrive.

Across the U.S., philanthropic support for arts, culture, and humanities is frequently among the lowest - with the vast majority of dollars going to museums and other large institutions.*

Art is essential!

Our Focus Areas

ACCESS

Creative Inclusion

Participation in the creative economy includes skill-development and training opportunities for emerging artists, as well as access to affordable studio space. Funding for art education, in particular, has plummeted nationally, as it is too often seen as a nice-to-have instead of a must-have. Yet art education is crucial because it cultivates imagination, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills from an early age. It plays a vital role in holistic development, enhancing cognitive, emotional, and social abilities that are invaluable for personal growth and success in an ever-evolving world.
RESTORE

The Healing Power of Art

Art is medicine. It can offer solace and a therapeutic outlet for emotional expression. It transcends worlds, allowing individuals to process trauma, reduce stress, and find comfort in their own creative journey. Through the act of creation and engagement, art becomes a transformative tool that promotes mental and emotional well-being, and enriches cultural understanding.
TRANSFORM

Experimental & Innovative Solutions

Pushing the boundaries of art and expression can support radical reinvention. The unexpected is a doorway to discovery. Creative thinking opens doors to innovation, self-expression, and the boundless possibilities of the human imagination.
