New Mexico United’s 2nd Meow Wolf Night

The Aug. 14 match will feature a tailgate party, performances, and limited-edition jersey!

Re-United and it feels better than ever!

On Saturday, August 14, New Mexico United will be holding their second Meow Wolf Night as they take on the El Paso Locomotive at RGCU Field at Isotopes Park in Albuquerque.

If you were at the inaugural Meow Wolf night in 2019, you know that an unforgettable experience is to be expected for fans of all ages when we get together with New Mexico’s Team. We hope that you’ll join us in celebrating the unique, collective energy that is created when the worlds of art and sport converge!

A limited-edition jersey created by beloved Meow Wolf artist Nico Salazar — of Future Fantasy Delight — will be worn during the game by the United team, and the first 3,000 fans to enter the gates will receive a limited-edition New Mexico United flag. The jersey and other limited-edition merch will be on sale August 12th at the New Mexico United Team Store and the gift shop at Meow Wolf Santa Fe.

Meow Wolf Night will kick off around 4:00 p.m. with an otherworldly tailgate party featuring local DJ O on the turntables for a “Costume Creature Disco”. There will be artists creating incredible pieces, stilt walkers, magical masked performances, an art supply drive for students, cookie decorating with Albuquerque’s own Rude Boy Cookies, and special appearances throughout the evening by Snaggy.

“Combining art and sport in fun, new, experiential ways and bringing those communities together has been at the heart of New Mexico United since day one,” said Peter Trevisani, President and Owner of New Mexico United. “We are incredibly excited to partner with our friends at Meow Wolf on this thrilling evening. We can’t wait to see your costumes!”

We encourage everyone to participate in the festivities by arriving in your best United soccer and/or Meow Wolf-inspired costumes, as prizes will be awarded to first, second, and third place winners. More surprises throughout the night should be expected!

Meow Wolf co-founder Sean Di Ianni — with a little help from Snaggy — will start the second half with the ceremonial kickoff.

“We are proud to be aligned with New Mexico United and have gone all out to make this evening an event to remember. After the difficult past year, it’s time to get out, be with our community and have a great time. Let’s go, United!” said Meow Wolf’s Co-CEO Carl Christensen.

The partnership between the United and Meow Wolf is unique in the sports world and represents the creative culture prevalent in New Mexico. In other words, Somos Unidos!
