Discover what Taving is, who Tavers are, and what really is The Tave.

Have you ever felt the wild wanderlust to jet, boat, hike, or bike into the wilderness? Or the desire to explore the wonderfulness of a new city, planet, or place that exists on earth or only in your imagination? That’s the purpose of Taving – to discover the new and wrap it seamlessly into your life experience, like an egg folded gently (or not so gently) into the flour of a bowl of cake batter. Yum!
Taving is the act of opening a portal in your own reality to travel to another multiversal location. Portals are tears in the multiverse fabric that open into or out of the Tave (we’ll come back to this in a second). Taving is all about destination – to Tave, you simply picture a doorway in your mind that opens into a hallway with infinite exits to other universes. Give it a try!*
*Note: The two ways to create a mostly stable portal is by a) Letting it just happen - but this might mean waiting several lifetimes or b) By tuning into a sound frequency hum, or quantum harmonic (you may need an oscillator, and we can’t really help you with that…maybe try an internet search?).
Tavers are seekers of adventure and travel. Anyone can become a Taver by opening portals into the multiverse. Other famous Tavers and Taving destinations include Lucius Selig and the ETNL Radio Station at Radio Tave.

Taving is often a solo activity, but sharing tips and tricks is a key part of being a Taver. You can find some Taver stories by visiting Meow Wolf exhibitions, reading Confessions of a Taver, and checking out TAVERS, the tabletop roleplaying game that may help YOU take that first step through a shimmering portal to the unknown!
The Tave is a space located between universes. The Tave is flowing with Source that has absorbed psychic debris from across the multiverse - you’ll find all kinds of things drifting through the Tave - memories, forgotten phone numbers, unwritten books, untapped imagination, and other imaginable things that you may somehow have mentally misplaced.

The Tave is also where you can find Islands and the Glen (also known as The Real Unreal and other names). The Glen is actually pronounced “Sarlazufazhaygleniia” (it’s easy, give it a try). Just remember that The Glen must invite you in, so be respectful!
Inside the Tave, you will find Eddys, which are circular currents that may pull you into certain flows and destinations, or into other Tavers. You never know who, what, or when you might meet! You may also stumble across Source Ghosts, Plotzo, Jared and his family, or Nimsesku…but we digress.
The Tave is mostly safe, but also is entirely super dangerous and unstable! When you’re there, please beware of Portal Sickness, DNA Unbraiding, Scope Creep, and of course, the ever-present Mnemonic Memory Merging. Also, please be aware that the Tave side of a portal doesn’t stay fixed for very long, meaning that traveling alone may be easier and safer. Tavers have a message board on the Techstream where they talk about these things in detail.
Maybe it’s best to define Source by using the ancient Zenion System of the Seven Elements. (Our tiny but capable brains can only comprehend it this way.) If you’re unfamiliar with the Zenions, you may want to review the Zenion Almanac before Taving. Source is made up of:
Power (Spo); Unity (Su); Transition (St); Mystery (Sm); Creation (Sc); Desire (Sd); and Purity (Spu).

(Now that that’s clear as mud, just know that you can find some for yourself when you decide to Tave in the Dramcorp Factory, the Tave itself, Portals Bermuda, or Eemia.)
Sure, we guess so. Why not? You can either do it, or you can’t… but we believe in you!

See you in the Tave, dear traveler!
