We just hit a year into quarantine life (a quarantin-aversary, if you will), and like the rest of us, you’re surely itching to get out of town.

Things within walking distance are getting old. Enough with the walks already!

So, that just leaves you with one option: A good, old-fashioned getaway!

Whether it’s with a group of friends, old college buddies, or the whole family, you’re just a short drive or a quick flight away from a 24-hour vacation you’ll never forget.

With limited time, a day trip can feel overwhelming, especially if you don’t know where to start. Worry not, friends! From start to finish, we’re giving you our top recommendations for one bright, shining, magical day in Vegas.

The Stove

If you’re arriving by car and have worked up an appetite from the road, we say skip The Strip. You want to know a local’s secret? The Stove LV in Henderson is where it’s at. There’s too much to do today for bottomless mimosas (next time), but at the very LEAST you should be sure to do a shot from the champagne shotgun!

The lively atmosphere will jumpstart your day and the food is *chef’s kiss*. They turn basic breakfast items like pancakes and waffles into full-blown masterpieces. You can’t go wrong with their Huevos Rancheros, Short Rib Omelette, French Toast, or Pineapple Upsidedown Flapjacks.

And don’t you dare sleep on their biscuits and house-made jam.

They’re currently seating at 35% capacity with reservations highly recommended, so if you can, call ahead!

Omega Mart

Now that you’re energized, get over here to Meow Wolf’s Omega Mart! We’ve been selling out daily so you should definitely buy tickets ahead of time.

When you come in, peruse the aisles, read every label, and ask all the questions!

Pro Tip: Come ready to shop! Nearly all of the products in Omega Mart can be purchased. And don’t worry, once you’re done shopping ‘til you droop, we’ll hold onto your purchases until you’re ready to go.

Surely you’ve heard of our freezer portal (so that’s a MUST), but we actually have eight portals that are ready to take you away to worlds unknown. Add all eight to your bucket list, or risk wondering what you might have missed...

Be prepared to spend a good part of your day here, so wear your comfiest shoes and your cutest fit for pics. We’ve got a few other FYIs for you, so check out our pre-arrival tips ahead of time to guarantee a truly exceptional Omega Mart experience.

Once you’ve finished exploring, don’t leave until you’ve had a drink at our Datamosh bar. The drinks are Instagram-worthy, for sure, but they’re also just plain delicious.

If the drinks and multiversal adventuring have you hungry — or if you just want to keep a good vibe going — there’s plenty to enjoy at AREA15, including OZ Experience virtual reality, Museum Fiasco and Axe Throwing!

👉 Came for the Art, Stayed for the Art

Grab a Lyft or Uber and head downtown.

Looking to recharge? We love low-key coffee shops, and Vesta has a maple hazelnut latte that leaves us speechless every time. And there’s not a local who will disagree that Makers and Finders Lavender Fog tea is worth the drive.

While in the Arts District, there’s a lot to see, so the best way to do it is to hop out and enjoy the walk. The art is anywhere and everywhere, stretched across the sides of timeless casinos and hidden in alleyways. Between admiring the sights, Main Street and Container Park are your best bets for cheap eats, kitschy thrift shops, and hole-in-the-wall bars that will grow on you real quick.

If you’ve got a love of vintage, one-of-a-kind finds, Patina Decor in the fashion district downtown is a MUST. Their beautifully crafted furniture is worth every penny and will have you seriously tempted to leave someone behind just to fit everything in their showroom into the car.

For those that never leave a city without a good book in hand, The Writer’s Block is the book shop, coffee shop, and workshop space for you. They’ve got all your big best sellers, but also have an unbeatable collection of poetry, graphic novels and children’s books that touch on serious social issues, everything from Asian Heritage to water conservation.

Not much of a reader? They also have a pretty funny collection of blank note cards that are worth the read and the purchase.

At any rate, you’re sure to find something great for the ride home.

👉 Show Me Vegas, Baby!

There’s just something about Vintage Vegas that never gets old. Head north from downtown to  the Neon Museum. This is actually one of the coolest Vegas attractions and it’s even a non-profit and supporter of arts education. Sure the lights may not be as flashy as those on The Strip, but decades ago, these were some of the most popular hotel names in the city.

Now they can be found in the Neon Museum Boneyard, lit up one more time for those that are nostalgic for Vegas the way it used to be or those that are obsessed with fonts and typefaces.

If you’re into the Vintage Vegas theme, keep it going with a visit to the Mob Museum and then perhaps dinner at The Golden Steer Steakhouse, where Old Blue Eyes himself frequently dined.

Or if you want to test your luck with little risk, no trek off the beaten path would be complete without a stop at the Pinball Hall of Fame Museum. Sure, it’s got the classics like Super Mario Bros and TMNT, but they’ve also got some pleasantly weird options like Nightmare on Elm Street, Austin Powers and Shaq Attack. No reservations required for this one so it’s a great time filler before your next adventure.

👉 Breath of Fresh Air

Top Golf

Trust us when we say you do NOT have to be an expert on the range...green? We’re obviously not golfers, and we still have a great time every time we go to Top Golf. It’s the perfect group option because they charge per bay by the hour, not per person, and you can have up to six people in a golf bay at a time. That means you can enjoy an hour or two of fun for just $15-$30.

While you can certainly compete for the title of Top Golf champ, you can also just sit back, relax, and enjoy food and beverages at the bar or in your bay.

Our top choices on their menu include the Kalbi Short Rib Tacos, Buffalo Chicken Dip, or the Cheesy Macaroni Bites.

The Linq

You may be debating whether to get out of town a little early to beat traffic or stay just a little longer.

You should definitely stay.

The sunsets in Vegas are something to behold every night, and there’s no better place to catch the view (or The Strip lit up) like the High Roller Observation Wheel at The Linq.

Sure, a lot of cities have a “ferris wheel” or whatever, but nothing beats the High Roller’s view. Literally nothing. Reaching 550 feet off the ground, it’s the largest observation tower in the world! A full trip around is just 30 minutes, making it a short, but breathtaking way to end your day.

Sadly, this is where we say goodbye. We know you can’t pack all of that in one day, so you’ll just have to come back!
