Legendary Monster Battle Happening in Denver

All kinds of creative creatures will unite in Denver’s Cheesman Park Pavilion for the kick-off of Meow Wolf’s Monster Battle.

Monsters, beasts and all kinds of creative creatures will unite on August 10, 2023 from 4-9pm in Denver’s Cheesman Park Pavilion for the kick-off of Meow Wolf’s epic clash of the costumes, Monster Battle. It’s a dance-off, it’s a battle, it’s a Monster Battle!

Denverites will twist, shout and dance with their claws out to the tunes of Meow Wolf’s DJ Snaggy and all you need to do is show up and prepare to get down. No tickets, no RSVP’s, no lines - just you, the ghouls and your best dance moves.

Kids, adults, and all-ages in between will love this summer battle of the beasts, complete with games, prizes and a chance to take home the glory. Embrace your true self by showcasing your cute or scary, silly or serious costume and prepare to LARP the competition. Dance with a stranger, challenge an onlooker to a duel or use your spell-casting ability to stand out from the crowd. No matter what you do, make it monstrous.

The ancient origins of Monster Battle began in 2008 when a colorful assembly of monsters exploded into a spontaneous dance-off in the Santa Fe Plaza. This year, on August 10, 2023, Denver’s multi-verse of monsters will continue the tradition with community members of all styles, mysteries and behemoths ready to ramp up the kitsch in Cheesman Park.
